TheĀ M63FA310A is a analog automatic voltage regulator made by Marelli in Italy.Ā Standard on 630-800 frames. This regulator senses 2 phases and adjusts excitation when needed. Auxiliary windings is needed to power the AVR.

The MX321-2 automatic voltage regulator is used on larger Stamford generator alternator ends. Ā These units are installed as a standard from factory on alternator ends HC6 and P7 stamford frames. This regulator allows 3 phase sensing which is constantly sensing the voltages across all 3 lines vs just 2 lines like on other standard AVRs. As an added benefit the regulator enables quadrature droop input, this enables the chance for multiple synchronizing across many generator sets.
Stamford’s AS440 regulator is utilized in brushless alternators providing regulation and stability in an automatic fashion. This AVR supports droop inputs for synchronizing on 2 or more AC alternator/generators. Ā Along with the added features the AS440 has an option for a hand trimmer, this is best used in applications where a voltage selector switch is present.
