Description
GENERAL
The R438 provides excellent generator regulation at +/-1% voltage variation. This regulator provides a unique feature which separates it self from the competition, Load Acceptance Module (LAM). When load is 1st placed on the generator set usually the engine and generator end struggles as load is placed. As frequency decreases below a preset threshold, and to avoid a possible generator down the LAM feature will decrease the voltage to either 13% or 25% until engine speed reaches nominal speed. Consequently this action will cause the active load to decrease about 25% to 50%. The good news the LAM is adjustable or it can be disabled altogether as the operator chooses. The AVR R438 supports CT droop input which enables generator to generator synchronizing.
