Description
GENERAL
The R438 provides excellent generator regulation Ā at +/-1% voltage variation. This regulator provides a unique feature which separates it self from the competition, Load Acceptance Module (LAM). Ā When load is 1st placed on the generator set usually the engine and generator end Ā struggles as load is placed. As frequency decreases below a preset threshold, and to avoid a possible generator down the LAM feature will decrease the voltage to either 13% or 25% until engine speed reaches nominal speed. Consequently this action will cause the active load to decrease about 25% to 50%. The good news the LAM is adjustable or it can be disabled altogether as the operator chooses. The AVR R438 supports CT droop input which enables generator to generator synchronizing.
