GENERAL
The SS42-7 voltage regulator is designed for use on 50/60 Hz brushless generators that have internal auxiliary power winding. This regulator includes frequency compensation, over excitation shutdown, a solid-state build-up circuit, and EMI filtering.

Stamford’s AS440 regulator is utilized in brushless alternators providing regulation and stability in an automatic fashion. This AVR supports droop inputs for synchronizing on 2 or more AC alternator/generators. Ā Along with the added features the AS440 has an option for a hand trimmer, this is best used in applications where a voltage selector switch is present.
The Stamford Newage SX421 is used in critical power generation applications where load is unstable and a superior AVR is needed. Much similar to Stamford’s MX321Ā voltage regulator, the SX421 supports a larger resistance to heat exposure due to its high rated encapsulated material thatĀ prevent the automatic voltage regulator’s internal components from heat. Ā You have the option to use in 50 or 60 hz operation from below 40kw to above 550 kw generator sets.
