The MX321-2 automatic voltage regulator is used on larger Stamford generator alternator ends. These units are installed as a standard from factory on alternator ends HC6 and P7 stamford frames. This regulator allows 3 phase sensing which is constantly sensing the voltages across all 3 lines vs just 2 lines like on other standard AVRs. As an added benefit the regulator enables quadrature droop input, this enables the chance for multiple synchronizing across many generator sets.
The Stamford Newage SX421 is used in critical power generation applications where load is unstable and a superior AVR is needed. Much similar to Stamford’s MX321 voltage regulator, the SX421 supports a larger resistance to heat exposure due to its high rated encapsulated material that prevent the automatic voltage regulator’s internal components from heat. You have the option to use in 50 or 60 hz operation from below 40kw to above 550 kw generator sets.
